MUBADALA – CHINESE NEW YEAR 2017

CELEBRATE THE RICHNESS OF TWO CULTURES – MAKE IT IMPACTFUL, INCLUSIVE AND MEMORABLE

There are around 180,000 Chinese expatriates living in the UAE and each year the celebration of Chinese New Year on Al Maryah island is a huge event -  Mubadala wanted to make 2017’s event more spectacular than ever before!

Brought two distinct worlds together in a culturally rich event | Focused on an accurate and respectful mix of cultural activities that were authentic and accessible to a wide audience | Sourced experts in Chinese calligraphy, sugar painting, lantern making and clay modeling and made sure these activities were open to visitors | Performers put on a spectacular series of shows including dragon dance, lion dance, and Chinese drumming | The event hosted a broad range of traditional Chinese food vendors with live cooking stations, serving everything from dumplings and spring rolls to roast duck heads for the more adventurous guests | Authentic lanterns created an atmospheric and immersive experience after sun down | No Chinese New Year celebration would be complete without fireworks – the noise, light and smoke are meant to drive away evil spirits and celebrate the coming year!
