Nokia approached Action Impact to provide a concept for a semi permanent roundabout installation. The roundabout, situated outside the Radisson SAS hotel in Media City is approachable from 3 sides and is a familiar landmark for commuters around the well known business district.
The installation was to focus on Ovi as the umbrella brand and highlight its four service areas, allowing flexibility to promote and highlight specific campaigns. A focal point of the brief was to ensure durable materials were used for the design in order to withstand the weather and enable easy ongoing maintenance.
The Ovi roundabout installation was designed to raise awareness by enhancing recognition of the Ovi Brand mark, Ovi’s association with Nokia and what Ovi services are available to the Nokia user. During the conceptual stage of the design, the team set about reviewing the various distances and approaches at which brand recognition and association would take place. The aim was to ‘excite’, ‘inform’ and then ‘engage’ the passersby with the Ovi brand using simple and clear messaging.
Sitting 3 meters high and stretching 8 meters across the roundabout, the end result was an eye-catching, eye-level brand display for both motorists and pedestrians.
