Action Impact supplied a full turnkey solution for Oman sail’s new HQ in Muscat.
The brief was to provide a temporary structure for 70 Oman Sail staff including meeting and recreational areas. The solution was to design, build and fit out a 1,250 sqm structure made of extruded aluminium, timber, PVC and glass. The fit out also included a 250 sqm exterior decked area with balcony.
At the ground floor main entrance a branded, bespoke reception area was designed which leads into a showcase and canteen area for all the staff. The showcase area is used to present trophies, awards and boat models. Graphic branding and videos of Oman sail boat racing is also displayed for visitors and members of the public. The canteen has a fully operational kitchen and bespoke seating units with pendant lighting. The ground floor continues and presents offices, meeting rooms, toilets and a training room with a state of the art interactive projection system and presentation tool.
On the first floor Action Impact designed an open office area with a dividing screen displaying a map of the world. The screen is made of sand blasted opti clear glass and edge lit with super bright leds. The rest of the first floor space is divided in to executive offices, a boardroom, finance office’s, toilets and meeting rooms.
The building was officially launched on 24th February to announce the 1st Act of 2011 Extreme Sailing Series™, which formed part of the Muscat Festival -two days of 'open-water' racing followed by a public event which celebrated Oman’s traditional arts, culture and heritage.
*Oman Sail is an exciting new initiative whose aim is to rekindle Oman's long and glorious maritime heritage. The entity was formed in 2008 and operates with the support and guidance of the Ministry of Tourism. The first graduates of Oman Sail’s training programme have already achieved many victories as part of its elite inshore and offshore racing teams.
