ADTA (Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority) contracted Action Impact to produce a world press event to reveal the Emirati sailor who will join the international Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing Team for the upcoming 2011/2012 Volvo Ocean Race.
The announcement of the winning candidate took place at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi and was the culmination of a grueling 3 month process to find the best Emirati sailor with the ‘right stuff’ to join the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing team.
The event was a celebration for Abu Dhabi Ocean racing and the ADTA, where international press witnessed an announcement by HH Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon al Nahyan. The final three candidates were introduced to the audience and edited highlights of the process were shown on a massive video screen. HH Sheikh Sultan was then invited to the stage in an ‘Apprentice’ style format where the final three candidates stood nervously on stage to await the announcement.
Adil Khalid was the winner and was given a huge welcome by the rest of the ADOR team.
A dramatic set and video stage came to life during the announcement which was followed by a Q&A session for the international press.
