Middle East Event Awards 08

Action Impact has received official recognition for its design of a 3,000 sq meter exhibition centre built to market the development on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. Named the ‘Saadiyat Story’, the exhibition is a fully interactive experience that showcases the vision for Saadiyat Island. And at the PALME Middle East Awards – the region’s only awards programme for the AV, audio technology and entertainment industry – Action Impact won Best AV/Video Solution for its work on the Saadiyat Story.

More than 100 entries were reviewed in the lead up to the 2010 PALME Middle East Awards, with judges only awarding companies that have pushed the industry forward and displayed innovation in the use of media technology and AV.

For the Saadiyat Story, this meant integrating a mix of audio-visual media including large scale video projection, graphics, interactive touch screens, audio and lighting. Action Impact also designed and built an auditorium that hosts a 20 metre curved screen that fills the viewer’s field of view.

Adrian Bell, Co-Founder and Executive Director at Action Impact said: “The Saadiyat Story is a unique piece of design and it has illustrated how the latest AV and digital technology can be used to truly engage and entertain an audience. As a consequence the Saadiyat Story has become an effective way of communicating the island’s vision and the award is testament to TDIC and the freedom they gave us to push the boundaries of environment design in the region.”

The Awards were open to production agencies, AV manufacturers, distributors, installation companies, lighting designers, PR & marketing companies. Other winners at the PALME Awards included the Sanctuary Nightclub for Best Entertainment Venue.
