Rain of Light Test Building Façade

Jun 2010

The Louvre museum by Jean Nouvelle is currently under construction on Saadiyat Island.  As part of the preparation for the incredible exterior roof structure through which light is filtered (referred to as Rain of Light), TDIC has developed a test building that serves to monitor the changes in light as the sun moves over that part of the island. This building was constructed as a purely functional structure but was rather unsightly as well as highly visible from the Saadiyat highway.

TDIC approached us to look at a way of improving the overall look of the building. Action Impact used the look and feel of the Rain of Light brand that has been developed and created a design for the building’s front. As this is also going to be used as a visitor centre in the future, it was important to differentiate the building and create interest in it from passers-by.
